i think making an algorithmic daw in godot would be really fun. nifflas (one of my fav game devs <3) made one to integrate into his games that reacts to gameplay. it's super cool, but he hasn't released it publicly (and i don't think he will lol)

I feel like calling something "pretentious" as critique falls flat if you can't coherently interpret what the work is trying to say. Oftentimes it feels more revealing of the critic than of the piece, since they'll have to describe what they consider pretentious, revealing their own blind spots
