It was so easy to get a job in TV/film then, the broadcasters were desperate for staff. I managed to turn it into a career, particularly in New Zealand feature films. Other newbie recruits, particularly in cinematography, achieved world class status.

There was a shortage of techs in the early days of broadcast TV in Australia. I worked for and was trained by a couple of film editors who came here from the UK feature film industry, one worked at Artransa, one at ABC TV. There were others in different parts of production. Oz film & TV is indebted

Perhaps, but the Commissioner highlights peer to peer juvenile exchanges as the major reason for this proposed clunky legislation. Adult male social media & internet precautions and legislation is well established already.

Even 'inferring age' from social media posts is intrusive, but perhaps (barely) acceptable. Will its owners/sponsors/backers take on the huge task that would be required to do that, and do it correctly?
