Fun fact: Martin is named after the person who originally gave me the idea for Fowl Blade. What a nice way of honoring him, huh? To name him after one of the most detestable characters 😌IRL Martin is a swell guy, though.

Ghost is shorter than the other two, with curved horns with two points, big dark eyes on an otherwise fully white face, and a dark blue wrap around cloak.

Hornet is the tallest, with tall pointed horns, more pointed eyes, and a red cape with a high collar.

Sherma is gray with a white face and smaller round eyes, he wears a gray cape with rough edges, and a bright copper hat that looks a little like a cymbal.

Wirt has a tall red come.hat and a gray coat with a high collar and gold buttons, worn over a white shirt light gray pants and suspenders.

Greg is shorter, wears a teapot on his head, and has green shorts with suspenders over a white Peter Pan collar shirt and tights. He also has a brown cross body satchel bag.

THREE! The flock's rooster, Douglas Jr.! (art of not specifically Douglas but the original chicken design, drawn by me!) He's an Ayam Cemani!
Named after Grandpa, because both are the youngest but biggest of their immediate families. A truer gentleman, you will not find.

TWO! The chickens! There are six of them, and their particularities make the story what it is. Since I have art of her I'll start with Jetta! She's roughly like 8 feet tall, fights with twin swords, and, despite outward appearances, cares deeply about those around her.

...2/2 Just by virtue of being an author, I've put a lot of myself into a lot of different characters. But Alex has the most of me, out of every character from every story I've ever written. Though her circumstance are very different from mine, her journey is an extremely personal one to me.

I've always found the Hodag to be really cool. I'm also a little jealous, because here in Minnesota we don't have much for original folklore tales. I suppose maybe Paul Bunyan kept all the monsters out.

Probably vampires I guess. I enjoy them as walking forces of nature, as a kind of representation of freedom/inner nature trying to get out, as a metaphor for a cycle of abuse, and so on.
