For the first time ever, we're launching a cinematic poster! IT'S REAL AND SICK AND YOU CAN HANG IT ON A WALL

I sometimes worry that the worlds I write that have fantastical elements need to make sense in our real world. They just need to make sense to the world the characters inhabit. If the characters buy-in, the reader might as well. I guess it's in how well you sell it.

I love movies like The Last Dragon that incorporate magic or some kind of powerset to the characters and the world at large, while still amazed, just accepts those are things that exist. The buy-in of those in the story world gives the movie credibility without resorting to realism.

How W. E. B. Du Bois responded to government policing of "anti-American" sentiment during the 1910s:

"I took great satisfaction in being able to sit back in my chair and answer blandly, 'We are seeking to have the Constitution of the United States thoroughly and completely enforced.' ”
Federal agents invaded even the offices of The Crisis and the National Association for the advancement of colored people and asked searching questions: " just what, after all, were our objects and activities?” I took great satisfaction in being able to sit back in my chair and answer blandly, “We are seeking to have the constitution of the United states thoroughly and completely enforced.” It took some ingenuity, even for Southerners, to make treason out of that.

By definition wouldn't all pants on you be deemed 'cute'?

I don't make the rules.

in between books I'm constantly writing and submitting short stories all over the place. As a writer, I just want to work (and get paid for the work).

4. Any leftover money goes back into the Treasury.
5. The winning candidate, if they have leftover money, may roll that over to their presidential library fund.

That's it. No PACS, no more dark money, no corp buy-in, nada. Just transparent $ funded by us thru Congress.

Here's how to solve campaign finance problems:
1. No outside money/donations, period.
2. Each candidate that wins their party primary unlocks a set amount of money allocated by Congress and spending is visible to the people.
3. Once that cash runs out, that's it. Everyone gets an equal amount.

There’s only two crucial rules in screenwriting:

1. Always finish your script.
2. Write for yourself and edit for the highest bidder.

I remember the last time you were at Maron's place. We were neighbors (next street over) and the secret service shut down the majority of the area, and I had a really hard time getting home that day...lol.

I was at an event this weekend where several people commented that we're not fighting fire with fire with all this BS.

I got quoted for doing good stuff in my hometown paper. Am I finally enough now?

Anyway, book bans suck. Buy my new book when it hits Oct. 20th, pre-order my next two books, and just generally give me the impression that I'm not wasting my life.
