I've got a photography store where I post mostly photos of birds, but also some landscapes and cityscapes and whatnot.

#BIrdOfTheDay theme: #colourful

It doesn't get much more colourful than Wood Ducks, with their red accents and green / blue / purple iridescence!

And, here's a photo of a European Goldfinch I took in Vienna in 2023. They're so much more extra than American Goldfinches!

the whole article could have just been ten pages of “Brilliant Things Eleanor O’Brien Said,” and some gold was left on the cutting room floor, but this is such a banger of a closer and it’s so very much the theme of today
That second part is true, but Europeans really do have a hell of a time conceptualising how huge the US and Canada are and how isolated large chunks of it are. Evidence: talking to some locals in our trips. It's perfectly understandable! But it makes some conversations very weird.
Speaking as a Canadian we're well aware of how ginormous our country is... But we mostly think east-to-west. I think 98% of our population lives within 200km of the US border. There's so much land in the north that's near-empty (of people) and often forgotten
#BirdOfTheDay #Black

We've got a handsome crow that didn't mind me getting close, an even handsomer raven looking for bugs in a log, and a Red-winged Blackbird with only one volume setting

As always: spreading the word about the shop and buying cool stuff both helps financially and does wonders for my self image! I hope to one day be able to survive purely on sales of art and apparel.

“And then it came, the realization that—at least in my mind—79 years old was so young for a famous rich white woman in America like Diane Keaton and that 78 years old was practically a miracle for a black trans woman like Miss Major.”
Diane Keaton, Miss Major, D'Angelo...
Who gets to live a "long" life in America?

I support everyone giving vast sums of money to Andrew Cuomo. It’s the “lighting a million quid on fire” art piece but this time performed by the worst people in the world.

Tonight’s dumb napkin cartoon…
It's possible I'm overthinking this 😁
Hmmm is this like one of those memes where you choose between $10M and going back to age 10 but with all current knowledge and memories ?

On the doctors: shit's chronic, ligament damage, gonna take a lot of patience and care to get better. On the phone: FOUND IT! On the sauna: passed because I had to go and pay the mechanic. Tomorrow septic tank ($) and still insurance for GF ($$$.)

Still need 290 URGENTLY.

If you buy an NFT of a stock in OpenAI you should have to wear a big bell like a goat for the rest of your life.
The crash is going to be brutal when it comes.

Robinhood says "it might offer "tokenized" equity in OpenAI. By "tokenized," Business Insider reports, Robinhood means "blockchain-enabled representations of securities like stocks." In reality, they have no connection to OpenAI equity whatsoever."
Amazing! That's a follow!

Having read Les Misérables, you fortunately don't need any footnotes. Victor Hugo goes into excruciating detail on the background stuff, from an in-depth analysis of the Battle of Waterloo, to the history of Paris' sewer system, to the post-Restoration political climate and discourse.
