So true, rush hour can actually be safer for cycling cause we are all moving the same speed, and it’s not too fast. Used to start a group ride on lakeshore at rush hour to get to the quieter roads out of town, way safer when when there are many cars and my group going 40km/hr than a few going 70km/h

Also at that speed a fit cyclist/e-bike user is able to go the same speed and more easily merges with the other traffic. AND if you make that the norm, vehicles that go faster become pointless for many, so lighter, smaller vehicles become standard, lowering deaths AND damage to roads.

We used to ride from TO out through the nice country roads to Hamilton and take the train home in the dark. Trains and cycling 🤝 are best friends, see Europe.
