At that stage of editing where I’m just writing THIS IS AWFUL on every other page
Off on the train to London for a day’s editing course @bloomsburybooks.bsky.social by @thelitconsultancy.bsky.social although I can’t work out if I’m more excited about the solo night in a hotel without children or the course itself… all in all very exciting
Spent a brilliant few hours at #glue book fair at the Institute for Contemporary Art today. So inspired. In that blissful place where I’ve got a million good ideas in my head and some energy to actually do them. Anyone want to start a publishing house with me?
Thinking of starting an onlyfans website but for cats. Onlycats. Lana would earn big bucks I reckon. We could sell her furballs and things she brings in to the house

Something has shifted. I’m setting up a new thing, working with artists and writers and musicians I love. I’m self publishing the novel I’ve had in my head for six years. I’m just doing all the things I’ve waited years for permission from others to do. Feels terrifying, incredible. Watch this space
Honestly don’t think I’ll ever understand parents who say they are sad the summer holidays are nearly over
Finished the first draft of my new novel just in time for the solstice. The story begins and ends and begins again at a solstice party, so that feels fitting… Litha blessings to all who live under this golden sun 🌞
Oh good. the final half hour of my six and a half hour train journey will be soundtracked by the obligatory group of pissed middle-aged men who have just got on at Exeter
Absolutely jiggered after MA summer school @lancasteruni.bsky.social, first time ever spending a few days just ‚being a writer‘. One of many highlights: hearing one of my heroes @jennashworth.bsky.social reading from her forthcoming memoir the parallel path
Also I loved Gallow‘s Down, which was recommended to me by my MA supervisor!

Overdone it like a rookie. This beautiful book is keeping me company on an enforced bed day: Time for Magic, with Jamie Reid’s artwork and the eightfold wheel of the year described luminously as ever by Philip Carr Gomm. Excellent anarchic stuff.

Please sign this, if you've got a moment. It might seem like a token gesture but it's important to make our voices heard. Trans people should be able to determine their own gender and live their lives in peace.

The fight for the rights and dignities of trans people is a fight against the thin edge of fascism. It's a hill we are willing to fight and die on. If you'd like to support us with a donation dedicated to trans rights, you can do so here. I am donating £1,000. goodlawproject.org/crowdfunder/...

With the absolutely offensive guff coming out of the UK govt today, I just want to say that, as a cis-gender middle aged woman, if you are trans and you identify as a woman, in my eyes, you are a woman.
My hobby is having a lovely time with other people and then spending two days afterwards running over everything I said and how awful I am
Starting the Osterbrot while slightly tipsy is a good omen for the year ahead right?

Peak me: being disappointed I didn’t get an interview for a job, then realising I never actually applied for it
