Must be extra insulting as a celebrity to have your name spelt wrong so many times #celebritytraitors
Although I hope it doesn’t catch on too much
I think Celia Imrie refusing to be remotely bothered about farting loudly on national tv is doing a genuine public service
Where has the male ability to look extremely hot in a knitted tank top, slippers & massive pipe gone? (Not to mention nonchalantly shrugging off being shot 4 times while fighting a Nazi of course)
It’s the 111th anniversary today of the birth of Harry Rée, who was a teacher and conscientious objector when the Second World War broke out, and by the time it ended, when he was 31, had invented ‘blackmail sabotage’ and got a DSO, an OBE, a Croix de Guerre, and a Medaille de la Resistance
b/w photo of a man in socks and sandals, jacket, short and jumper, in front of a wall with a bike leaning on it, and with a pipe in his mouth. If you wanted one image to sum up the word ‘nonchalant’, this would be it
Just saw a pigeon walk in to a pet shop. Not sure if it was giving itself up or shopping or what
Best just to call the police on all of them
A few incredible humourless replies to a quote post about a humourless reply. Layer on layer of people unfamiliar with the concept of a joke
Next time somebody asks me what Bluesky is like, I'll send them this
The main thing that comes across from that Chatfishing article is how unconfident people are about expressing themselves, it’s so sad. People trying to get a machine to help them understand how to be human
Oh this is sad. And somehow so surprising - she didn’t seem like the kind of person who would die. Too young & healthy seeming, however old she was
"She is the dream actress that every director should have." —Gillian Armstrong

Rest in peace to the great Diane Keaton, fearless and unique, a dream actress indeed. 📷 Norman Seeff, Los Angeles, 1975
Black and white shot of Diane Keaton in a tank top with her hands behind her head. I like this photo for its simplicity; you can feel her personality.
And it’s so long since anyone under 65 or so had a booster & there have been so many variants since then
It’s dispiriting that this is what getting a COVID vaccination now looks like to this chronic asthmatic.
‘Can you do something with my hair I’m 200 years old & it’s been a hard day’
Never look nearer death than when staring at yourself in the hairdresser’s mirror
Two different AI videos appearing in my feed in quick succession posted by people trying to get others to stop spreading them. Feels ominous

why do they call them children, they have like zero chill
These costumes are such a good idea because ICE don’t care about images of them assaulting a vulnerable woman, it excites them - but no one wants to be filmed beating up a giant frog, that’s just ridiculous
Even as a small child this struck me as unlikely. Where are all these goat rendering factories? What industry is producing all this goat fat as a byproduct? And Facebook didn’t even exist then so this was just people telling each other mad shit in person
What did your mother tell you ice cream van ice cream was made with, according to some mad mum rumour she’d heard? Mine said goat fat, my partner’s mum told him cow’s blood plasma
He definitely does play with porcelain dolls, he does their voices in whispers & brushes their hair, no matter how much he denies it
The fact that he talks like Cher from Clueless makes him even creepier if that was possible
Stephen Miller: "Eventually elections don’t carry the day because violence beats votes… When we see a muscular response from the federal government, it’s because we’re not going to let violence beat votes."

Is he implying federal intervention determines political legitimacy, not ballots or courts?

Can’t believe the Irish tried a version of UBI, found it worked, and decided to keep it rather than commission another study.
Damn. This is amazing. £325 per week, paid monthly, for 3 years - and the result was a profit for the Irish economy:

Post from Threads user rodneyowl: "Ireland has declared the Basic Income for Artists scheme permanent. This will be officially announced in tomorrow’s budget. Details to follow. Congratulations to all who fought for it and the present and future artists of all sorts in Ireland. That includes me 👌We’re just comin to the end of a 3 year pilot scheme. It’s been a roaring success. For every €1 paid out to the 2000 participants, the government got €1.46 back. Can’t argue with that. Other countries are already taking note."
(usually associate her with being the ‘gowns by’ lady on fabulous Ginger Rogers/Marlene Dietrich films)
Watching Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid again. I love the fact that the costumes are done by Edith Head
Thanks, good to know. Yes very annoying when what we thought we had was nice free draining chalky soil!
