And we may thank the late Sen. Orrin Hatch (R Utah) for his 1994 Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act, preventing the FDA from acting against makers until patients have been harmed. Guess where the dietary supplement industry is centered? Utah and Idaho. It's a tidy little earner.

But let's be clear: the group chat includes a State Senator, a Trump Admin official, and multiple Republican staffers — and some of the worst comments came from folks associated with Mike Johnson, Elise Stefanik, and Mike Lawler.

I would love for more people to know and really process that "colleges and universities" are not a thing-- it is a complex, diverse, differentiated industry in which institutions have vastly different audiences, funding, even missions.
