She could see from the roof
in a dreamland where
the endless expanse
became walls and ceiling
a cityscape projected
but now so distant

I long for somewhere
more #unearthly
than this damned city,
surrounded daily
but #rusting hulks
of metal,
whizzing past
like the rest of life—
way too fast.

A silly dream

Run away with me, my sweet,
Let’s rush through walls in sumptuous bloom
To where the whisp’ring fountain’s fume
Will soon caress our sandaled feet.

Hide away with me, my dear,
To breathe the roses’ rich allure,
Where blossom hedgerows will obscure
How unreservedly I revere

Those brown eyes that smile at me.
And your fingers’ gentle touch,
When you take my hand and clutch

Inanna Ihwa – Ghosts

Centuries of thoughts and dreams,
Of wisdom, hopes and stories,
Of remedies and glories,
Are tucked between these beams.

They live on gold embellished shelves
On dark and smooth mahogany
And old exotic ebony,
And wait that someone delves

Into the secrets that they hold
Concealed in silk and leather,
The pages pressed together.
Some have never been told.

The ghosts of lives that are long-gone
- of conquests, journeys, passions
and hand-written confessions -
On paper they live on.

Let’s find the vivid histories
That sleep in ink and wood.
Let’s find the bad and good,
Unearth their hidden mysteries.
