These posters have been popping up around Manchester. There's 12 more days till The Fale Sā / Sacred house officially opens to the public. The team is gearing up to travel to the UK in the next two weeks. Here's how you can support the artists directly. xx :) <3

'What begins to emerge throughout the exhibition is the idea that digital spaces—game worlds, fantasy and dreamscapes—offer a kind of terrain where one can imagine differently.'

Jessica El Mal reviews FALE SĀ / SACRED HOUSE by Fafswag at HOME this year as part of Manchester International Festival.

Created for AsiaTOPA, SAUNIGA explores the majestic world of our earliest ancestors: the animals from the land, sky and ocean.

SAUNIGA recalls the sacred connections between spirits (Aitu) of the old world and the lives of their Samoan descendants. Bringing together dance, adornment and ceremony.

Got to watch this beautiful film on Māori TV last night. I'd encourage everyone in our network to go check it out. It has the best sound design I've heard from a short this year. Next to Tanu Gago's Picking Crew. Congratulations 🎉👏🏽🎉 to Allie Howell and team.

The most consistent collaborators within FAFSWAG are me and Pati. It makes sense, we're partners and co-founders of the collective. I guess it's a default. This is our recent project SAUNIGA, which is part of a larger project with other members of the collective called the Fale Sā // Sacred House.

Responding to the lack of representation within the creative industries, FAFSWAG has come to redefine what it means to occupy a fluid gender spectrum, a multi-cultural identity and a growing interdisciplinary practice.

Today for #100DaysOfDrawingBoys I did a self-portrait. It's so weird to draw yourself. Fighting the impulse to nip and tuck all the parts you feel insecure about. I'm glad these drawings aren't super complicated, cause I can live with these basic and simple shapes. lol 😆

Yesterday we met with the AKL Museum to discuss archiving our collection. We're relieved to learn there's also an emphasis on ephemera. We've generated so much of it as part of the public facing side of our community driven practice. Happy to know it too can live on in the archives.
