we need to stop calling academic writing "urgent" and "important." let's start at "pretty good" and "interesting enough" and take it from there

My sense with things like this is that all of the actors involved remain unpredictable given the amount of variables at play and the limited info fans receive, so it's hard to infer much at all about motives etc. In fairness, I understand this is a very boring way of looking at things on my end, lol
