Groups blast lack of progress on debt issues during South Africa's G20 presidency

A total of 165 organizations on Monday criticized South Africa for failing to make progress on debt sustainability issues during its presidency of the G20 major economies and urged it to push for reforms before it hands over to the U.S. on December 1.

Today we're at the DAC-CSO Annual Dialogue. Following #FfD4, the DAC is discussing how to be more inclusive.
We're here to say that expanding the DAC & what counts as #ODA isn't the solution! Governance of ODA should be moved to the #UN, and aid must remain concessional & grant-based.

The current system of governance, financing, & support for #development, doesn't meet low & middle-income countries' needs to achieve their goals.

The EU’s Global Gateway: a civil society perspective. The European Commission's second Global Gateway Forum promises to be a carefully stage-managed success story. This panel will provide an alternative to the official narrative, spotlighting the real implications of the strategy and the impacts of energy, mining, climate and infrastructure projects on the ground. The event will feature voices from the European Parliament and civil society in the Global South. 8 October. 9.00-11.00 CEST at the Press Club Brussels Europe. This event will be live streamed.
