(they’ve not been able(!?) to transfer the membership details of people who joined using Zarah Sultana’s website, and they’ve suggested then maybe backtracked on that being on the mailing list also makes you eligible to attend these meetings/‘regional assemblies’)

they appear not to have asked the, fairly active, organising group in Edinburgh if they wanted to organise one, so it’s not just a case of meetings (sorry, ‘regional assemblies’) being where members* have organised them
(*they’re still being very loose with what constitutes a member at this stage)

i’m a member of both, both parties ruled allow for it, the postcode thing on the GPEW site just points you to the Scottish Greens website as your branch if you put in a Scottish postcode (without, tbh making clear that you’re not actually able to get involved in Scotland without also joining them)
