but also places like restaurants can pay servers less than minimum wage if their tips with compensate for it… most servers i’ve seen get paid about $2 an hour

and it’s been that since 2009! when it was worth twice as much in today’s money!! my first two jobs were $7.25/hr then there was a state increase to $9.25 when i was in college and i think now it’s like $12.50
