If a person looks at it with any sense, Netanyahu and Trump played a game with the hostages lives this last year so they both can be seen as heroes in the negotiated plan for their release. 🤷🏾‍♂️

You do not, in fact, have to hand it to Trump. At all. I’ll be grateful for peace and for those released, but there’s still a long way to go. And yes, I do still believe Bibi wanted Trump and wasn’t about to deal while Biden was President.

Or maybe, just maybe, what was obvious in 2024 was correct: Netanyahu fully backed Trump and would not deal with Biden because Trump would give him a free hand to escalate the starvation, bombing, and do full ethnic cleansing. Which he then did, until Netanyahu embarrassed him by bombing Qatar.

Our messaging, our policies, are secondary to the possibility that there are always susceptible targets to spread just enough cynicism, doubt, and out and out derision to depress turnout that might otherwise come our way, unless we all just show the fuck up every damn time.

What I don’t think a lot of people get is that with the Democratic Party being the opposition party, those who benefit from the GOP, and especially MAGA GOP, know that’s the case, and they will tailor strategies to pick off anyone who might find themselves in solidarity with Democrats.

The last time they sat down together to record, it was a really great interview. I find it so damn beautiful that another sit down with President Obama is how Maron has chosen to end his podcast. What I love about Maron is that, despite his anger (all of it justified), he does not bow to cynicism.
