these DO seem like made-up garbo, but i'd do one of those 'log me out of all devices' if it's not too inconvenient, just in case!

a few years ago, i saw a load of music i wasn't listening to in my 'most replayed' list. after logging out everywhere, issue solved. no idea who was using it, or how 😰

i've drawn with the aim to improve since about 13, so, 2008... i love seeing where artists started, so here's images from around 2010-2012. all are hand-drawn, then scanned to colour digitally

like a lot of artists in my generation, i started with manga 😅

i've realised i don't WANT a style

art is play, to me. i see a new art style every day and want to try it. so i have the most fun with a 'jack-of-all-trades' approach

i think there's pressure on artists to FIND a style, but only because a style is marketable. the pressure should be on having fun!

nostalgic for my art journey... images are from 2018, 2021, 2023, and 2024, each representing different styles i've used

i used to feel driven to 'have a style'. the advice is: 'it comes with practise'. i wonder if others see an artistic through-line in these pieces that i don't!!

however...

whenever something like this happens i climb onto my roof and start yelling about local-first setups, and community building that isn't reliant on one or two cloud services......

ooo, very good shout on the RAM... i went into my PC and gave all the connectors a push and a wobble but properly re-seating things should be my next port of call!

living becomes work, so true! i love to track pretty much everything just for my little brain, but as soon as i started doing that as a private endeavour just for me, rather than seeking validation from it, it became much more enjoyable ⭐
