Some positive news today. WASH systems are progressively being established in Gaza, despite border access limits. Primary prevention and malnutrition treatment programmes are underway. 4,300 pregnant /breastfeeding women started nutrition support this month

The World Food Programme is now delivering 750 tons of aid into Gaza daily, but that's still way below their target of 2K per day. The WFP is also failing to effectively reach the most vulnerable. The limiting factor is crossing closures, making access to the north particularly problematic.

Freddie North, from Nashville’s vibrant R&B scene died this week, aged 86. Freddie was renowned for avoiding discussions about his commercial recording career. I tried to interview him at one point—with limited success—though I think Tony Rounce did a better job for the Kent CD. #soul #nashville

This afternoon I stopped to chat with Leeds Women in Black. The Leeds anti-war group were established 6+ years ago—way before 7 Oct 2023—and since then have been turning out on a weekly basis for vigils in the town centre and to protest against Israeli occupation. #gaza #genocide #writingcommunity

I have an obsession for picking up these NAACP cards for my civil rights collection.
They'd tell so many stories, if not for the fact that many of these individuals are now untraceable or no longer with us. History that is potentially forgotten.
