Not really. Because Digimon set up their world with both anthro and nonanthro beings from the get go.

Also they're known for very nonsensical evolutions and have never pretended otherwise.

One of my weird geek thoughts is I don't get anthropomorphic Pokemon. That creature is Digimon-shaped.
