UK electricity/gas infrastructure companies have spent £490m a year less than budgeted on maintaining system reliability and preventing failures.

Gas privatised in 1986, electricity in 1990. Assets sweated.

OFWAT probes exec pay at water companies. Yorkshire Water bypassed rules, paid execs through offshore parent company.

Govt was told legislation was weak.

OECD average 4.6

Worse in many places. Hackney in London 0.9, lower than Mexico. Bedfordshire 1.7, same as Colombia.

Sick people can't work. Can't boost GDP & productivity without better healthcare.

Our state has become a guarantor of corporate profits
