Nope! They wrote back and said they were still interested in representing the author. The dead author. The dead self-published author. I'm not sure if they were asking me for approval, which I have no authority to give. And I'm not at all clear what they're planning to do vis a vis representation. ?

Ok, that's creepy. Got a query via the local writers group webpage directed at one of our authors. Unfortunately, that author passed away last year. I told the person who was inquiring he had died and I was not aware of the disposition of his book rights. Thought that would be the end of it.

I found out one of the checkers at my grocery store is an aspiring writer, so I invited her to join our local writers group! And now we talk about our writing every time I go through her line. It's been fun to encourage her to do something she really enjoys and wants to do more of.
