Early-retirement couch potato in his mid-50s. I've seen the future. I can't afford it.

Please do not follow me if your entire persona on here is "I post and repost mostly political stuff," or because you saw that I liked a political comment somewhere, with the hope that I will follow you back. I will not.

I prefer to use this space to escape politics, for the most part.

I know that I *can*. It doesn't mean that I *want to*. ;-)

I even have a box of these in the freezer, because it's easier than spending an hour cooking from scratch, and I never get around to making them:

Even if I stopped adding things to each of those piles, I would never make enough of a dent in any of them before I die. I just try to prioritize, and deal with what's in front of me.
edcooknj.bsky.social
If they're going to arrive packed in dry ice, I may as well just eat one of the ones I have tucked away in the freezer. ;-)

Part of the "I can't possibly consume all of this media" problem is offset by the "I am happy just to own this thing" aspect.

Sooooo, if I can get to El Salvador, Guatemala, Latvia, Estonia, or Lithuania, I can get a McRib right now.

My entire "I don't like leaving the house" is going to be a problem.

I like how the Whitman logo overtook the DC bullet to change the title to 'Whitman Comics Presents', and made 'Super Friends' a 'Whitman TV Comic', instead of a 'DC TV Comic'.

My sleep schedule has shifted (again), and I try to drop at least 1 post around 8am Eastern, even though I might not be up long after that to interact. I resist the urge to post during overnights, when I am awake.

We should both take heed of @vinsonlovescomics.bsky.social's self-reposting advice.

This is a great box, which I do not remember seeing at that time.

Since I don't see as many posts go 'live' as I used to see, when someone I follow reacts to a post/comment, I try to go back and check out what they have posted since the last time I saw them on my feed. Same thing when I *do* see them in the feed, & I try to go back and catch up.

I do have several posts where I think, "That should have gotten more reactions," but I continue throwing everything at the wall, to see what sticks. I know that I have less time to spend on all social media at the moment, so I may seem like I'm paying less attention to others, too.

She was a beautiful girl.

I loved all of ours equally, but when I worked overnights, Katchoo wouldn't go into the bedroom with Jeff & the others. She would stay out on the couch, and when I walked in, she would start *thumpthumpthumping* her tail on the pillows until I came over to hug her.

I miss all of our dogs who are no longer with us, & think about them every day.

All of them were special, but our girl Katchoo bonded with me the most. I would say, "Gimme a kiss," & she would press her forehead against mine, & wag her tail. She left us 15 years ago today.

(please don't repost.)

Oh. I was hoping this was going to be a FISH lunchbox, featuring Abe Vigoda.
edcooknj.bsky.social
I just assumed that it was because no matter how big a hit it would be at the box office, the 45-day window puts it on PVOD by the 1st of December for home viewing all month.

I posted the same response before I saw yours, though I imagine I'm probably the 1000th person, by now.

Little Debbie Christmas season has officially begun.
Snack cake display in Publix with my wife rushing by hoping I don’t notice the sweet treats. ( I noticed )

Cyndi Lauper’s dazzling debut lp – She’s So Unusual – was released on this date in 1983. Produced by Rick Chertoff, it’s anchored by the joyous “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” (#2 pop, U.S.). The album reached #4 on the American lp charts – launching Lauper into the 1980s and beyond.

Afterward, Jeff waited at the Stage Door for OH, MARY! to meet Hannah Solow again, and she was wonderful and generous with her time. She signed 2 Playbills for me, as well as a window card for the show. Jeff also got signatures from Jenn Harris, Martin Landry, & James Scully.

Jeff's second show on Sunday was his 6th time seeing OH, MARY! on Broadway. He wanted to see Hannah Solow in the title role again, and this was her final performance before Jane Krakowski takes over the role. (I'm sure that Hannah will return to the role in the future.)

Follow-up: Jeff waited at the Stage Door for LITTLE BEAR RIDGE ROAD after the show, and got a copy of the Playbill signed by Laurie Metcalf, Micah Stock, and John Drea for me.

Everyone should have a Jeff. ;-)
