Brown Sugar ushered me into adulthood. He was a GenX artist and THEE architect of neo-soul, and that genre of music represented me becoming a grown ass woman. His music made me very aware of myself and gave me a lot of positive feelings about being a young Black woman.

His impact is immeasurable.
