People sometimes ask why I have the comments turned off. The answer is simple; I don’t need to be told 500 times a day that I’m going to hell. I’ve heard that threat my entire life. So, if my posts offend you, do the adult thing and just move along. In other words, turn the other cheek.

Evangelicals believe that because God is omnipotent, He knew people wouldn’t follow His rules unless they were threatened with eternal damnation. To put it in layman’s terms, He rigged the game.

Born-again Christians believe that critical thinking leads to hellfire damnation. Therefore, the turn-or-burn crowd tries to avoid thinking at all costs. They are spectacularly successful in that effort.

One side believes THEIR GOD is the right god, while the other side is convinced THEIR GOD is the right god. Consequently, wars have ravaged humanity because of these ridiculous assertions. The world would be a far more peaceful place if everyone realized there are NO GODS to fight over.

Why are so many hospitals named after saints? If you believe in the power of prayer, you don’t need an ER or an ICU. I think Christians are trying to have their cake and eat it too.

As a child, I was a victim of brainwashing. I was raised a Southern Baptist. As an adult, escaping the cult was not easy, but I eventually managed to stop drinking the Kool-Aid and switch to Rum and Coke. Cheers!

Evangelicals don’t love God. They fear the threat of eternal damnation. That is not what you would call a healthy relationship.
