I would really enjoy not being angry all the time. It’s what fuels my breaks from paying attention. Unfortunately, not paying attention has many risks, so my sessions are short and filled with anxiety about what’s going on that I can’t do anything about anyway.

I don’t find it a serviceable metaphor. LLMs don’t deal in the information that text represents. LLMs only deal in text as a string of statistical values biased by “training” (most of which isn’t even human curated), not by the function of language to produce meaning (let alone reasoning).

Done. As an aside, I closed the tab then decided to go back to view my profile to see if the little lock icon is on there… and now I can’t open the site without Safari asking me if I want to open the site in Safari and it doing nothing. TECH IS SHIT. Whatever. Done with that shit.

In Safari on iPad, website icons on browser tabs are overlaid on top of the X to close the tabs. If you move to tap/click on the thing that most OBVIOUSLY REPRESENTS A TAB YOU WANT, among a pile of tabs, you’re almost guaranteed to close the fucking tab unintentionally. Apple’s UI “expertise”.

Opposing fascism is patriotic. Somehow the blatant obviousness of Trump’s clownish pathology didn’t discourage his election. The intensely creepy aberrant behavior of republican officials just didn’t put voters off nearly enough to inspire them to avoid HANDING ULTIMATE POWER TO NUTCASES.

My user ID (a word I made up) was grabbed on a few sites by stalkers explicitly harassing me. I happened to get to Twitter before they tried to take my handle there. That’s why I keep my account at all.

Almost every day I end up posting a thread that is me ranting into the void about how thoroughly FUCKED the ENTIRE tech industry is. If it’s software, it’s perpetually broken; yet we are all expected to treat this as normal and blame ourselves. There’s an entire culture dedicated to blaming users.

👍🏽 Some of those “kids” are now in positions of power. Having likely faced zero friction until this article revealed their behavior, I doubt any of them have grown up in any sense. JD Vance isn’t remotely grown up himself. We are ruled by piss-babies in adult bodies and it’s terrifying.

Every few minutes, Safari stops recognizing the arrow keys on my iPad Pro “Smart Keyboard”. No other apps show this problem.

At this point, I’d need a thread that’s at least several astronomical units in length to compile every fucking tech bug that randomly punches me in the face all day long.

I was off Facebook for over three years, but the only social networking site my real-world people ever use is fucking facebook, so I went back to have some presence in their online lives. No such thing will pull me back to fucking twitter.
