Poem, by me, an ode to "First, They Came..." First Forgotten First, they came for the queers. They burned our books, Banned our presence, And imprisoned those who would not comply. When the war was over, Many were dead. Those that weren’t? Still outlawed, still imprisoned. You don’t remember? You didn’t learn this? Of course not. That’s what they wanted. They erased our lives But not our memories. First, they came for the queers. But we weren’t part of the fucking poem.

As a trans-masc, "miss" or "ma'am". Especially when they previously said "sir" but then I said something and now they're apologizing and "ma'am"-ing me. No, go with your eyes. Please. And if you aren't sure, Mx (pr: Mix or Mz) is great!

I wish we had more gender neutral forms of address...
