Gig news! Really excited to be putting on two Autumn Store gigs in October and November in Birmingham.

2nd October I’ve got Fightmilk and Wiiince at the Rock and Roll Brewhouse

7th November it’s Healees, The Leaking Machine and Kate Thompson & William William Rodgers at The Victoria. Plus dancing!
And good to see Twee Grrrls Club still going too! A series of happy coincidences took me to one of their gigs in Tokyo in 2012.
They’ve missed every band from the poster I’ve just posted…
Seek to remember the downstairs being a good spacious venue. When did it go?
Bonus fact! We last played with then at a Fortuna Pop! night in London in 2007.
Excitingly, I’m supporting The Wave Pictures this Friday. It’s at The Hare and Hounds in Kings Heath and we have a tidy set of songs from the new album and last EP to play.
Poster advertising The Wave Pictures at the Hare and Hounds with Falling and Laughing as support. The gig is on Friday 10th October.
Castle and Falcon is particularly tricky if you approach from the wrong direction. Hope you managed to find somewhere to park easily too!
Nice! And the experience of doing literally anything to shift them and make a fraction of the money back will evoke the feeling of selling out as well.
Thanks! Just looking at it now - sounds like a game changer. I mean I’ll have to give up the indie dream of having boxes of unsold vinyl cluttering the house but I guess I’ll come to terms with that.
Thank you to everyone who came down and to The Rock and Roll Brewhouse for hosting the gig, and sorry to drummers of both bands who are omitted from these pictures because of the angle I took them from. This is probably an apology to all drummers everywhere who will be familiar with that issue.
Fantastic Autumn Store gig with Fightmilk and The Proctors last night. The room was full of people enjoying themselves - and that is why I put on gigs! Both bands on their way up to the Edinburgh Indiepop Alldayer who are in for a real treat.
Fightmilk playing at the Rock and Roll Brewhouse. You can see in the picture the singer holding a microphone and a drink in the air and the bassist singing into the microphone. The Proctors playing at the Rock and Roll Brewhouse. The singer is playing guitar and leaning backwards while the bassist and keyboard player are singing behind him. They have a photograph of a cat as a mascot in front of them.
Ooh which one did you go for? I’ve been looking at vinyl pressing recently, nothings really stood out. Can’t seem to find any in the West Mids either.
Classic example of where the title of the song is the first lyric of the song.
This reminds me of the fallout from the time I drew a face on a banana!
I know in my original post I only added ‘plus dancing’ below the Healees gig, but you can dance to Fightmilk if you’d like. I won’t ever stop you from dancing.
Two weeks to go until @fightmilkband.bsky.social play their first Birmingham show, and hopefully the first of many!

Thank you for reposting! 🙏
Just in case you wanted to see Healees twice, I’m putting them on in Brum the night before the Shoegaze all dayer. (Sorry it’s not usually my thing to respond to discussions from ages ago but thought it was worth me mentioning)
Slightly diminish a book:

Watership Downer
Slightly diminish a book:

Two Men in a Boat
Misplaced World
Baron of the Rings
Sand Bank
Slightly diminish a book: Wuthering Mid-levels
Then I shall simply have to give them a listen in the morning.
Missed it, but that looks 100% like the type of gig I would go to. If anything it’s a bit crowded.

Same. We forgot the golden rule to guess this very band if you haven’t heard the song before.
