I work in a lab. Getting replacement equipment parts used to be a painless process, and now it's a huge hassle that slows everything down.
Things never ever ever ever go as expected, but the vibe for heavy hitters around RPG Site contributors seems to be KCD2, Hundred Line, Expedition 33, Fantasy Life I, and Trails in the Sky. (So, this is genre-specific ofc).
This is the most wide-open GOTY debate I can think of.

What has your vote if you had to pick today?

I think I'm looking at Peak, REPO, or Kingdom Come 2.
I feel you. I'm writing reviews, setting up interviews, endless news coverage, editing other reviews, writing guides, and that's ALL in my 'off' time from my full time lab job.
I've actually been meaning to replay it..
This is the first time that Nintendo/TPCi let us review a Pokémon game ahead of launch. Maybe that's a weird thing to have any pride in at all, but as an indie site staying in our lane yet always striving for more, every opportunity we achieve feels good and I'll never take it for granted.
Much like Pokemon Legends: Arceus before it, Pokemon Legends: Z-A is a bold and unorthodox take on the series' formula, and yet more proof that Pokemon is better when it pushes the boundaries of what a Pokemon game can be. Our review: https://www.rpgsite.net/review/18695-pokemon-legends-z-a-review
So they invited you to the Switch 2 launch event, but are not responding to review requests?
The valve was open!
In honor of spooky month, share a 4 word horror story that only someone in your profession would understand

I'll go first: Six page commercial lease.

It's another episode of the Tetracast, RPG Site's weekly podcast!

In this week's episode, we review Absolum & Ys vs. Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga, and we discuss the latest RPG news: https://www.rpgsite.net/podcast/18684-tetracast-415-i-need-someone-to-explain-time-tra
I usually keep my two lives separate from each other, but someone in the lab today came up to me unprompted and excitedly said he thought my games writing stuff was "super cool". I had no idea this guy was also an RPG-head. He said he loved Expedition 33 and was excited for Dragon Quest 1&2, lol.

But yeah even the Mana series Fandom wiki has numerous footnotes about the alternate fan translation names, as they were the English names many went by for years until there was an official translation.
I'm only with RPG Site (and have been for 13 years) because of a @zackreese.bsky.social tweet (Zack come to bluesky already)
Seiten Densetsu 3 and Trials of Mana come to mind. Nothing major but some town/location/characters names I still think of the classic fan translation first. Carlie vs Charlotte, etc.
Getting to that point in my tenure where I want to reference a prior email correspondence, and it's from a decade ago.
Not quite the same thing but I remember when an English dub had the super smart scientist character pronounce 'spectroscopy' wrong and it completely broke whatever believable immersion there was. Gotta get the facts (mostly) right!
