I mean, you're probably right (and I grew up outside of Chicago so Fermi has a part of my heart as well). But RLM's story is sooo compelling. Hiding from fascists, setting up a lab in her bedroom? Obv, NGF. Then being named Senator for Life in Italy and having the gall to live to 103?!? Legend.

Yes it feels more objective. But so many reviewers have a really hard time distinguishing small issues from fatal flaws!

Ultimately no part of the review process is ever free of bias or subjectivity.

NEW: There’s a disaster unfolding in Alaska right now. And no major network is covering it.

The remnants of Typhoon Halong battered western Alaska overnight. Homes, with people in them, have literally been swept into the Bering Strait.

At least 20 are missing. No comment from any federal agency.

Russell Vought continues his attempts to traumatize federal workers -- this time by ignoring a bipartisan law signed by Trump that guarantees federal workers back pay following a shutdown. This is illegal and an intimidation tactic. It is also unpopular. Vought can follow through at his own peril.

OMB deletes reference to law guaranteeing backpay to furloughed feds from shutdown guidance

An Office of Management and Budget FAQ document now states that only excepted employees forced to work without pay are guaranteed backpay at the conclusion of a lapse in appropriations.
