What has become of the country? Are young people now listening to the punk kind of rock?

"I've just been informed about blue-haired people from 25 years ago and want to pretend they're unusual, and not people who are now parents who vote."

Rep. Pat Harrigan: "This No Kings rally -- that's the blue hair, anthropomorphic experiment that's gonna happen up here in Washington DC."

Someone invited me to lunch today. I warned everyone involved that I could be murdered by accepting.

I was not, but it was still clearly a possibility.

Okay, I was nearly stopped completely by "Without saying Hurt..." but favourite cover?

It has to be Coil's version of Tainted Love: youtu.be/2v9Cug52Wus?...

It changes the entire song.

This is the sort of international diplomacy we Canadians ask for.

Being apart from family, I am still looking for a place that will deliver a Thanksgiving burrito.

Dear Canada: I hope at this moment in time you are either happily in a Thanksgiving food coma, or making serious progress toward being in one.

If anyone needs me I will be in the museum, lying down next to the bog bodies.
Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?
2? Questions
I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

Great. Next I'll learn Canadian Halloween isn't actually about sharpening our maple-leaf-bladed axes to protect ourselves against the beasts of winter.

Is nothing sacred?

Obligatory post in honor of Indigenous Peoples Day. Have a blessed one (unless you're a racist, then you can go to hell).
Bad Place characters in two panels
Top panel: Fun fact: Columbus is in the bad place
Bottom panel: because of all the raping, slave trade, and genocide.

We’re releasing 31 episodes in 31 days. We’re doing this because the Thanksgiving turkey regrew its head and told us to and then broke its own neck and died at the dinner table & my nephew started crying.

This is one of those episodes. It’s called,

I recommend looking into them.

Meanwhile, local ace man has lovely conversations with women because he's actually curious about their lives, boyfriends, girlfriends, and everything else.

I should really get into that game sometime

I, too, do research for the sole purpose of having something to talk about at Thanksgiving (Canadian).

"Have I explained the different kinds of bronze to you?" I ask during a lull at the table and we all consider more mashed potatoes.

The room is silent. The dog licks my hand. Later comes blood.

We’re releasing 31 episodes of Wrong Station in 31 days. We’re doing this because it gives us an excuse to research maritime disasters so we have something to talk about with family at Thanksgiving (Canadian). This is one of those episodes.

Things I did not expect in Canada: chatting with one of my brothers about the death threats his wife is getting.

1. No, I am not even going to try to offer alt-text on this scene, because... wow, there's a lot going on
2. I hope the ICE agents up there are sincerely questioning their life choices

The nice thing about talking with a friend about cats is being able to use a first in my lifetime sentence like...

"Oh, no, señor Naughtipaws!"
drgeoffreym.bsky.social
That's both adorable and how it should be.

If it's not too late, let the pumpkins close to you know it's a trap. Yes, the enemy leader is right out in the open, but look at those flanks!
