I finally hit 20k words ... just ignore that I was almost there a month ago.

“I am not interested, nor will I ever be interested. I'm 61, and I hope to be able to remain uninterested in using it at all until I croak. ... The other day, somebody wrote me an email, said, ‘What is your stance on AI?’ And my answer was very short. I said, ‘I'd rather die.’” 🫡
Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro says 'I'd rather die' than use generative AI
Del Toro's new Frankenstein adaption reimagines Mary Shelley's 1818 Gothic novel. Frankenstein was like a tech bro: "creating something without considering the consequences," he explains.

Yeah. Meta buying out Instagram spelled doom. I don't even bother looking at mine anymore. And I also can't being myself to delete it, it's a bit of a snapshot of my past. So it just lays there, dormant.
I'm confused that I'm both a lawful planters AND a chaotic plotter. Lol.

Feels like it shouldn't be possible.
because of the whole "prophecy" trope.

Lionman on the other hand went really heavy into the "Dragonflight" plagiarism vibe. But it was 99% coincidental. I had a big chunk of that story invented before reading DF, and was devastated to discover it had already been done. And better. But that's life.
from the Wee Free Men. Probably because I'm convinced she's autistic too.

Starborn and Lionman are heavily influenced by Dune and the Dragonriders of Pern. Starborn doesn't really have obvious parallels, but several people have commented that the MC has strong Paul Atreides vibes, probably
Hijacking this random monthly thing I haven't done. Cause I like this question.

Newest book, without a doubt was my attempted rip-off of Terry Pratchett. Really, there is no direct comparison (who could even come close to touching those heights) - but my main character is very similar to Tiffany
Yeah that is weird. Don't want to defend AI here, cause I hate it. But maybe it was one of the crap(er) ones, lol. I know, unless you pay for it, most have a character limit. It probably went well over your limit and instead of saying that, it just pretended everything was fine.
Not teaching AI to say "I don't know" has to be one of the worst F ups of modern times, right?

It always having an answer seems like an epic failure.
TikTok's greatest crime is normalising portrait video format.

And I can never forgive them for that.
Last night I dreamt I got to rid in the machine from Carl Sagan's contact. It was built in a school, and was nothing like it was in the book or movie. I wish I remembered it better, because it was weird AF.
Don't forget. The guy who won the American election didn't win because of his horrible promises, he won because he asked enough people "Are you better off now than you were 4 years ago" (or whatever years it was).

So are you, are you better off now then you were 4 years ago?
I think I might have to stop playing computer games.

Feel like when I start I fall into a deep depression, don't get anything done, and just play games most of the day.

It's not good.
Also, I'm miserable :(

Okay, no xbox tomorrow, no matter how bored I get
I'm so glad my laptop doesn't have the space to update. Windows keeps trying though. xD
It's not intelligence that I'm pointing out. Otherwise they'd consider the consquences of such actions.

It's their selfishness and need to dominate I'm pointing out.

the "it won't happen to me" crowd isn't driven by intelligence after all.
Is it misunderstanding though? Or is it, but we'll be the ones on top so it doesn't matter?
You can tell AI was designed by neurotypicals, because it can't seem to get to the damn point.
scammer sending me an email for the 2nd novel in my main series, heaping lots of praise.

And I'm like: "You liked the book did you? The one nobody read because 99% of readers gave up on the first? That book? ... Huh, that's novel."
I've been crook for a couple of weeks now (was getting better then went out and got sick again, so reseted that bugger) ... so, I've done nothing.

Getting better again, got to make sure I don't mess it up again by being social xD

RELEASE DAY SALE

This trilogy gets better each book.

From dodging slave owners and giant venomous reptiles to a civil war, encounters with fusion guns and surviving a deadly jungle where teeth+claws glow blue, Balfour's tale is one of perseverance and belonging.

Went to a Tom Waits tribute thingy last night ... it was bliss.
Love it.

That actor will be at Bendigo Pop Con in a week or two ... I'm kicking all the family things that have made me too poor in the past couple of months xD
I think I average 0.2 books a year atm. But I also battle exhaustion, depression and laziness. So I don't have a particularly strong or consistent work ethic.
Authors, in the interest of helping readers spot gen ai 'authored' books, how many novels do you publish a year?

I publish one 80-100k+ word (epic fantasy) novel, and I can only do that because I drafted 8 novels before I started publishing any. 📚💙
