the big asterisk on this is it doesn't count if the business does not speak the same language as you, however
all power to people who think 'realistic' is the best thing something can be--i have absolutely zero desire to ever hang out with someone who thinks that, but,
As a follow-up to that Cozy Game essay- I see people saying that gritty games are "realistic" in praise of that essay's point, and no, no they aren't. Games are not realistic. This is why they are games.
The most realistic games are not gritty- they are European sim games made for the autistic.
thinking about how when jedi fallen order came out there were people who refused to admit it was soulslike, despite having every marker of the genre, because it just like, didn't suck to play and didn't actively hate the player
Man, I always feel so guilty when I play a demo for a souls-like and my main thought is "I wish this wasn't a souls-like"

More devs should take the route of being loosely souls-inspired instead of trying to tick every box they think a souls-like needs to have.

Moral shortcut:
Feeding people is actually good

Anyone trying to tell you otherwise is objectively a bad person
i think anyone who gets upset over pokemon ZA's politics is literally the lamest person on earth. like not because its politics are good but because it's not that deep bro
unfortunately, the souls demographic are pretty strongly opposed to quality of life since they feel it cheapens the sense of accomplishment from bashing their skulls against brick walls
and every single time people are surprised that the game developers did not actually create thirty unique routes, somehow

when a video game is described as having a complex and dynamic narrative shaped by your decisions that means that at the end there's a "good" button and a "bad" button and you get to pick which one you press
there are really a significant number of people out there who will tell you PLA has better graphics than scarvio when their character models look like this. isn't that wild

Pokémon Legends: Z-A is actually very enjoyable when you haven’t got someone crying in your ear about how ‘terrible’ it is. 😌
i'm pretty sure wayne brady is just an scp who spontaneously manifests at any sufficiently popular improv comedy show, with a small number of exceptions for appearing in situations where he can blow everyone away with how good of a singer he is
i think it's super funny how ffxiv has a time bubble where it's all technically the same year and then you look at guild wars 2 and anet is like 'huh? oh, uh, yeah. it's been twelve in-universe years since the base game.'

like HUH, that's too far in the other direction guys!!!
It performs pretty much perfectly on 1. There's a bit of pop-in, but it's nowhere near as bad as ScarVio could be. Basically no lag at all.
zionist? yes
antivaxxer? yes

but none of that should let us lose sight of the fact that she also tweets a lot of really inappropriate stuff under the guise of her characters, also, really she just sucks all around
if Craig McCracken does go forward with the Powerpuff Girls reboot (which is doubtful at this point since we've heard nothing about it), i hope they get someone else to voice Bubbles.

i'm not so nostalgia-blinded that i'd welcome an awful person like Tara Strong back.
all of the best games ever made don't have very good graphics anyway
im tired of boring people trying to convince others that pokemon is a bad game purely because of graphics, i agree games shouldnt be this expensive but games can still be fun and playable. some textures on the wall didnt break my enjoyment of the game
so just putting this out there, if none of the actors you can get for your rewatch podcast play any of the show's actual main characters, you probably don't need to make a rewatch podcast
this actually used to be a pretty common video game design trope
It’s wild that silksong has an ending for normal people and then a whole other kinda secret third of the game for people who hate life and themselves
finally, a game with real choices

does the pokemon world have homeless people?

like i know that question sounds ridiculous but the pokemon world is pretty post-scarcity, i think it genuinely just might not? outside of AZ in XY, who was homeless voluntarily
sorry but the windows aren't immersive, bad /s
why.

do the rules say that you can't say things that are false? genuinely skill issue, if someone believes everything they see on the internet, i don't think the internet is at fault for not being draconian enough, that's a crazy standpoint to hold
media might be subjective but 'yakuza 8 has weak writing, unlike shenmue' probably isn't, unfortunately. might be the craziest take i've ever seen
