Why are people suddenly using this phrase to describe right wing Democrats? I swear Marxists can't have any goddamn language to ourselves

This is why I don't take "just sue him/take him to court" seriously as a primary strategy. Secondary or supplementary? Sure why the hell not. But we all know where trusting federal courts to handle this type of bourgeois corruption, w/o a mass movement to pressure judges to act quickly, leaves us
I am genuinely confused here. Did you mean "Democratic centrism" or is Matty Glacier's grandpa a Leninist?

It should be a human right to live in an economy that doesn’t go boom and bust nonsensically
"But it already says that in the preview"
People scroll fast and don't always read everything
For those wondering why the preview is just showing an image of a swastika on top of a building, it's a still frame from footage of it getting blown the fuck up shortly after the Nazis lost the war
This one actually made me feel like a dumbass for the ones I got wrong. The one at the top of the thread gives less useful/predictive information about the voters
Kind of similar to Aspie Supremacists who sneer at less "functional" autistic people, or colorism w/in Black/brown communities that favor the relatively fairer-skinned. People desperate to at least be "respectable" enough to avoid harm, up to/incl. throwing the more "deviant" under the bus
This is anecdotal on my part but in talking w/ less educated, mostly older coworkers about what should've been impeachment-level scandals for Trump 2, I consistently found they took bullshit framing at face value, e.g. Trump is only going after the criminals, DOGE is just making govt leaner
I think the educated and chronically online underestimate how credulous some voters actually are, and how difficult it is to decipher what lying-ass candidates and their parties actually stand for and consistently do once elected, unless you have the pattern recognition skills of an abused child
Anyone wondering how the hell the pro-choice people voted for Trump would be wise to remember that: a) a bunch of people were dumb enough to believe Trump wasn't lying by omission re: his disinterest in P25; and b) Trump's mistresses have had abortions, so surely he must be pro-choice
There's a shamefully large contingent of immigrants who did everything The Right Way, suffering for decades to earn their legal status who feel nothing but contempt for undocumented immigrants who "cheated" and supposedly milk the welfare state they're paying into but can't benefit from themselves
I tend to avoid reductionist explanations involving just one of race, gender, etc. w/o factoring in class but this specific comparison feels close to a cut-and-dried case of US politics, even intra-Democratic Party politics, being racist as fuck
Getting scrutiny for not scrubbing a Nazi tattoo sooner vs. getting "scrutiny" for being a Muslim in New York

All the racist bullshit thrown at Mamdani and Platner gets benefit of the doubt when it's clear he no longer deserves it.

I don't support Mamdani since he's a Dem, and fully expect his Milkshake Duck moment to come later when he inevitably sics NYPD on protestors as mayor, but holy shit man
I earnestly thought his main source of income was Patreon and the like. What the hell man
I've eaten some truly awful struggle meals (as in, literally just tortilla chips and salsa) but this seems like bridge too far, though maybe it's just I don't like hot dogs specifically. Swap the franks out with chik'n nuggets and this becomes at least palatable
Is turning it into a reef the actual intent or a coincidental side effect?
This report seems to conflate gen AI with potentially actually useful forms of machine learning but to give a rough sense we're talking hundreds of billions in USD invested last year, maybe a few trillion cumulatively. And these are lower bound estimates probably

This tech is beginning to devour the rest of the economy and expanding like a cancerous tumor by the way. This interviewee's rage is the rage of every creative worker whose QoL decreases as they're confronted with gen AI worming its way into their workflow
I think the answer is probably no, unless an actual Latine person makes that mistake. Actual Latine followers/moots encouraged to sound off and make me look like a fool if I'm off base here
Your mention of RTS makes it sound like they're playing Starcraft (where the term "zerg rush" comes from) and I don't think that's what you were going for
I would liken it more to a Paradox-esque grand strategy game where the oligarchs are all edgy 14-year-olds making decisions based purely on vibes and ideology without thinking about actual cause and effect relationships. Except Trump who I'm convinced thinks he's playing Total War
I would posit that the US has *never* been a democracy. There's always been at least some demographic at the bottom of the class hierarchy that's been either literally or effectively disenfranchised. Always the iron grip of a duopoly of two capitalist-backed parties
Even calling this 50-60 year span truly democratic is a little generous given this period is characterized by the evisceration of the welfare state and organized labor. You do not get the Patriot Act, DHS, and associated mass surveillance infrastructure in a democracy. You don't get the war on drugs
