maybe its a minor difference in the grand scheme of things but it always stood out to me. like there are Many Many scenes that function like this across the story but this one is strangely dear to me bc of...i guess what it says about these wounds and what the final author would think to offer them

in the vn it's coupled directly hand in hand with the scene where hachijo declares the book will not be opened; as she closes out these loose ends her final act is to offer a pleasant dream to the witch of the island. that's way more interesting to me and i wish the manga sequenced it more clearly 😔

the manga sort of....alludes to it being a gift with ~imagery~, but it's not very clear. the vn is much clearer that the entire chapter is a gift featherine offered to the catbox as it lay buried. that, to me, speaks more interesting things than a literal interpretation of the scene would

the vn is much clearer than the manga that this chapter is a *gift*. it's Notably clean and straightforward and not very painful at all; a story where the two talked and understood each other perfectly, just once. but no one who was there can speak on whether that could ever happen

the vn is a lot of fun i do recommend it :) esp for all the little nuggets an adaption obviously has to cut out hahaha
*that* scene (the penultimate chapter) is interesting to me but i don't know how much you want me to say about it before looking at the vn yourself xD
