After highlighting the steep rise in alcohol-related liver disease in young women, we now highlight an even bigger problem in our children. The highest prevalence of lifetime alcohol use for 11-year-olds (34% girls) was observed in the UK. @Inst_of_Liver

I am not disagreeing with you but to play devil’s advocate, only 8 patients (20%) had a TIPS for pre-op optimization with the rest needing a TIPS for AVB or large vol ascites in the previous 6/12 which is a surrogate marker for being sick @cawoodhouse.bsky.social
