yesterday one of my d&d players who is a university professor, who I've played with for half a decade, who has a Potion of Flying in his character backpack, who has seen birds before, put his hand up to ask "does flight exist" without any further context and reader I almost lost control and hit him

the hardback book is a relic which I appreciate as an aesthetic but most books should be printed in softcover, it is very possible to create a robust and flexible book without heavy boards, china has been doing it for a millennia

creating anything these days forces you to put up an emotional wall — the sheer slurry volume of contradictory online opinions means you have no rational choice but to ignore absolutely all of it, which is a dreadful shame because that attitude *also* sends us mad
