Denmark - a true pivot by the center left to listening the electorate and concerns over the values of society vs immigrants.
France - no compromise by the center left. But luckily for now a true centrist exists in macron to play kingmaker and embrace a more security minded approach.
It's more appeasement to antisemitism than anything else.
Everyone knows deep down it's because they want to prevent an international incident of local people from that other faith attacking Israel as in the Netherlands.
We should recognize that some opinions immigrants have are contrary to our way of life, such as exterminating Israel or conquering Kashmir for pakistan by violence. Those immigrants should be deprioritized.
Every man has the right to practice his religion. But if you treat support for exterminating Israel as just another opinion you're missing the long haul game.
I'm certainly open to the idea that the middle class Israelis who visit the UK are the ones engaging in football hooliganism.
Rather than the group already committing a disproportionate amount of crime in the UK that holds intensely antisemitic beliefs. But presumptively this seems unlikely.
But I guess that is the reason. Germans are humble about German culture and willing to speak to an American audience. While the French just do themselves.
How is it that Americans love French culture and view German culture as stilted and boring and yet we've had two classic German bands (Ramstein and the Scorpions - also debatably Kraftwerk) but nothing from the French?
Yes. It's a reasonable take to say the Nazis were a right-wing movement, but at least admit the group that was very clearly on the Left played a role in why the Nazis came to power to begin with.
