I was fused 2020. Recovery was a mess - i got a post op infection and had to be reoperated and stayed in hospital for a month.

5 years out, though, it is an incredible decision. Gave me back so much quality of life

Pope Leo quotes Hannah Arendt:

“The ideal subject of totalitarian rule is not the convinced Nazi or the convinced Communist, but people for whom the distinction between fact and fiction and the distinction between true and false no longer exist."

Pope Leo calls for news agencies to stand as bulwark against "post-truths," lies and manipulation
Pope Leo XIV has encouraged international news agencies to stand firm as a bulwark against the "ancient art of lying" and manipulation.

I know John Le Carre's "The Honorable Schoolboy" kind of splits fans as it is a bit of a sprawling mass of a book. But I'm finding all the chapters on the bureaucracy of Whitehall and the Circus are super soothing for drifting off to sleep to.

Maybe I need a bureaucracy genre booklist...

Pope Leo in Dilexi te: Christians who “dismiss or ridicule charitable works, as if they were an obsession on the part of a few and not the burning heart of the Church’s mission, convinces me of the need to go back and re-read the Gospel, lest we risk replacing it with the wisdom of this world.”
That's often used in music to move the song along and give a sense of musical journey - here they have taken the technique and turned it up to 11
(I found a video guide to playing it here...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNLpHApoZfo)

I am on the road so can't fully tell key signature - possibly C, possibly Am
As to why its so compelling - they do a tonne of messing around of inversions in the bass line, so alternative root notes
Oh this looks fascinating, thanks for sharing

CHATGPT: I understand where you're coming from. You worked really hard to get here, and now it's time to enjoy the fruit of your labors.

ISILDUR: So I should keep it? Elrond says I shouldn't

CHATGPT: The ring is precious. Sometimes friends don't have your best interests at heart.

ISILDUR: true

Cultivate a couple of hobbies. Ideally, things that have nothing to do with your day job and that bring you joy, even if you're not great at them.
Those who are 35+, what advice do you have for people just entering their 30s?

Has anyone got any useful methods for beginning a conversation on common values in a leadership team/trustees?

Especially things that your team have actually found helpful (given that not everyone leaps into the air for joy with this kind of activity...)
It's been terrible for years - especially at Freilassing station. Nearly always causes me to miss a connection at Munich. Though they are now controlling the Salzburg-Freilassing road bridge as well.
oh the delays and missed flight connections those controls have caused...
His stuff on improvisation sits nicely alongside Parker 'the art of gathering'
Oh, if that is the direction you are wanting to go, the thesis might actually be quite useful.
OK I have pulled up the thesis and it is quite different to the book - the thesis covers more ground, but assumes a lot more background knowledge (and has less helpful examples to real life)
Ah quite possibly. Just might not be as accessible
