Any viable Democratic candidate for president must accept these terms.
Pritzker: "Stephen Miller is clearly ordering people to break the law. So he should know that yeah, it may be three years from now that he is held accountable, but I think it's important for them to know that whatever they do now, it's not like we're going to forget."
Since when is demanding representation in a representative democracy a farce??

This guys is a clown.
“Arizona is considering suing for taxation without representation if you don’t seat Adelita Grijalva.”

Speaker Johnson: *continues to cover for Pesophiles*
I am a bald, straight, white man who's very "conservative passing" & lives in a red state. The amount of not so subtle dog whistles I have been given by conservatives who don't know me, but assume I'm on their team, is ASTOUNDING.

These text messages & the response does not surprise me at all.

If someone on your own side is caught frolicking in a racist group chat, is it fair to criticize them? Or should you just keep your mouth shut because you agree with them about Trump? For some, this is difficult.

The fact that there are so many people "shocked" by this revelation is more shocking than the revelation itself.

Did people really think that Stephen Miller was doing what he is doing because it's good governance?

It's always been about white grievance, people have just been willfully ignorant.
What the hell is going on with all of these Instagram posts with suburban & urban rich white women complaining about having to clean up for their cleaning ladies?!

Get the fuck out of here. I can barely afford childcare & you're complaining about having a cleaning lady?

So fucking tone deaf.
Agreed. Use her name recognition to advocate for someone else. She would be taking office at 78 & facing reelection at 84.

This is insanity! She admitted herself that she's worried about her age - heed your own warning!

The Democratic gerontocracy doesn't have the energy to stand up to fascism!
This quote sums up how I've been feeling over the last month. The more I try to talk to MAGA or MAGA sympathetic people, the more I realize they genuinely live in their own reality. This reality is void of morality and decency. They take glee and celebrate others suffering. It's despicable.

There's no "regular politics" anymore because you can no longer maintain the idea that we all agree on common goals but we only differ about the means of getting there or whatever. The guys in charge now are plainly amoral, sadistic nihilists. They delight in it! You can't civilly disagree with that
I agree. I'm not trying to make excuses, but explain why it exists the way it does. Most people aren't willing to give up their relative, while crappy, comforts in hopes of improving things. They've been told for years that the US is the best, so how could disrupting what we have make things better.
rightfully terrified that their family will be destitute if they spend more than a couple days a month protesting.

The system is working as intended. We are getting rolled by an authoritarian government and people are too sick, tired and poor to do anything about it.

It's depressing as hell.
It's a very interesting situation. A lot of people I talk to legitimately feel like they do not have the time or energy to protest at that scale.

We have no guaranteed social safety net, healthcare tied to employment, outrageous childcare etc.

The majority of the population are wage slaves &

Just a reminder, the layoffs in govt were just done out of spite, not necessity
This 100%
The campaign against “antifa” is about establishing a beachhead for further attacks on speech and assembly rights. We see that today in the effort to preemptively label No Kings protesters as “terrorists.”
People need to listen to @chrismurphyct.bsky.social. He's not being alarmist. He's being honest.
We aren't on the verge of an authoritarian takeover. We are in the middle of it.

But I worry people don't see the whole scheme. They just pay attention to each new daily outrage. So I went to the Senate floor to explain Trump's plan.

Here's a 🧵of the speech. It's important.
This response we are seeing from Portland.. it gives me hope..

Humor, fun and joy are all infectious...

I love it.
Mockery may be one of the greatest weapons we have right now... just showcase how unhinged these claims are.
People been sworn in by judges in the past. Have a Supreme Court justice swear her in and let them waste their time challenging it. The GOP doesn't follow norms anymore. The laws on our side, I say we move forward.
This is what I've been saying! It'd be great to see Jackson, Sotomayor or Kagan do it!

I'm tired of them getting to play by their own set of rules.
Just have Jackson, Sotomayor or Kagan swear her in. Let them challenge that. The constitution just says she is required to swear an oath or affirmation to support the constitution.

Fuck them using the norms when it's convenient for them, we can disrupt the norms too.
That's the tradition. All the constitution says is that they "shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support the Constitution"

What you're referring to is the tradition. In rare occasions judges or other officials have sworn reps in.

So let's have Jackson, Sotomayor or Kagan do it.
I think it's a matter of when, not if, and we should all have a plan.
It seems clear—I think to everyone, now—that a false and illegal invocation of the Insurrection Act is coming before the end of the year. Media outlets should be telling us how they will prepare for this potential Treason. State governments should be telling us. Activists should be developing plans.
