Keir Starmer calling Kemi Badenoch's bluff over the China spy case in PMQs: she's made serious allegations, govt clearly thinks she can't stand them up, & so far the vibe is fairly 'person on X who doesn't know the law, arguing with a lawyer'

Especially if it's a Tory, because they are filthy, filthy animals.

The 'other stuff' really shouldn't have been left to the imagination of the reader, I have to say.

Yep I don't necessarily regard dull as a criticism.
davidbeech.bsky.social
Yep. That's it. Sick of hearing about.

I'm 51 years of age, and for all my adult life, the one constant in politics is 'we need to talk about immigration'. Could we try just try shutting the fuck up about it, actually?
davidbeech.bsky.social
Yeah, agree with you there too. I'm not one of those people

I'm very happy not to see or hear posts from those gobshites anymore. Blissful.

To be clear. I'm not talking about cost of living or benefits or whatever else you think he's failed on. I get that. It's those unhinged people who *really* hate him just because.....they are unhinged.
davidbeech.bsky.social
Yeah although I don't think your average person in the street buys the more outlandish claims
davidbeech.bsky.social
You see, I don't know if you're serious or not 🤷‍♂️

I understand Starmer is unpopular with voters, they think he's doing a bad job and all that but I genuinely don't understand that sub group of people who have an all-consuming hatred of him. They *hate* him with a passion. He's just, well, dull. Impressive, tbh.

But the lobby said Badenoch's speech was a triumphant success? I don't understand?

I'd have a smidgen more sympathy for people like this if they could muster just a little bit of self awareness...

Sorry still laughing at the tragedy of having to say no to the 4k Nepal trip.

I know Badenoch has given up on them anyway, but I do think this kind of statement, the tone, is the kind of stuff that really turns off those middle of the road tories that I know who care about good government, sound money and the like. It's just a bit....childish.

I very rarely use it and when I do it's for specific pages related to my interests and that's it

No idea if my friends are going mental on there - I got rid of all connections on there and insta a while ago. Made the decision to use social media differently - just for hobby pages etc - and I'm not regretting that decision.

Went on Facebook to nosey at a couple of boating pages, so I thought I'd look at my feed which is just an endless stream of conspiracy theories, desperate clickbait from newspaper sites, scroll after scroll of complete bullshit mixed with cat pics. Just insane stuff.

Your average voter thinks most MPs are lining their own pockets - better line of attack on money is how he earns it. Going over to the US and slagging off his country for cold hard cash for a start.

BBC asking Bridget Phillipson at length about rising antisemitism in the UK (which actually fell last year according to new figures, albeit still very high) but not at all about rising Islamophobia, which is up by 19% year-on-year
