Also, I'm just a huge Tim Meadows fan, so whenever he shows up somewhere, I'm watching, and I'm never disappointed. Find me a more consistent comedic actor, that dude's one of the best to ever do it.

This Colbert/Tim Meadows interview is a golden example of everything great about the talk show interview format. When the two people know each other, they are very funny, very affectionate, and you feel like this is what they would be talking like if the cameras weren't on.

When writing comics, especially the action/adventure-oriented ones, you should definitely have moments where you go, "That's going to look so damn cool!" after you write a panel description.

The A cover to Transformers Wreckers: Tread & Circuits by Jack Lawrence and Candice Han depicting the "IDW2" version of the Wreckers. They're showing off for the cameras. Clockwise: Thunderclash, Ricochet, Minerva, Circuit, Aileron, and Hot Shot. One of several Transformers projects I wrote. I also edited the entire line of Transformers comics for several years. The cover to the Eisner-Award Winning Godzilla 70th Anniversary book, by E.J. Su who also has a fantastic story inside. Godzilla is destroying a town and chomping on a train. In the background, a silhouette of light in the destruction makes a giant 70. A comic I co-edited with Jake Williams at IDW (and one story edited by Jamie S. Rich). I was the Godzilla editor for a bit working on other titles as well. The cover to Power Rangers Prime #5 (which makes the Pink Ranger look more purple than he really is). Depicting the Prime team. Clockwise from top: Red, Yellow, Black, Pink, and Blue! Art by Dan Mora. I am also the former Rangers editor at BOOM! Studios. The cover to the Sonic the Hedgehog 2022 Free Comic Book Day special. Art by Adam Bryce Thomas featuring Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails. I was the editor on Sonic at IDW from 2018-2023, as well as writing some additional materials for the book, including a recap back-up story in this very issue!

I love working with Pablo Collar. One of the most talented and collaborative up-and-coming artists around. I'm still floored by the pages he did on the Aquaman comic we did together this year, and I very much want to work with him again. You should work with him, too.

If you ever have the chance to see original comic art in person, whether it's at a convention, a museum, or some kind of gallery exhibit, you should take that opportunity. Seeing comic art in general is magical, but seeing it in person...man...it's incredible.

One thing that is awesome (and it's only Friday, and I'm not there) is that so many new comics have been announced over the last three days at NYCC. More projects from all these publishers are great for the industry; it's very exciting to see! I'm stoked to see what Saturday and Sunday hold.

As a basketball fan and Lakers hater I was already deeply concerned about Luka Doncic having a killer summer, now he’s doing Hot Ones tomorrow. He’s going after everything this year.

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

Sometimes when you’re writing a pitch all you have is a funny title, and hey, that’s okay. You should have fun with that absurd title.

If you had a long week, you're looking to laugh, and you have access to Paramount+, you gotta watch the new Naked Gun with Liam Neeson. I'm still thinking about how funny that movie was months after I saw it in the theater. I probably will watch it again this weekend.

Huge shout-out to @thefakefangirl.bsky.social and Caroline Butler for making this dream a reality. And for reading the deeply nerdy, lore-centric pitches I had submitted and keeping me on track to tell an awesome story.
