The Smith era was the only one I watched in its entirety. I started getting into Who some time late in the Tennant era.

I haven't watched Who since dipping out during the beginning of the Capaldi era. I keep meaning to go back and watch it.

Watched Skinamarink. I thought it was a good, if maybe a tad long for what it was. If you don't like slow burn films or films that focus on atmosphere you'll probably hate it. The moments it did pick up were unsettling but the film does expect you to sit with those moments for a pretty long time.

Getting the impression Disney got cold feet on renewing another season with the BBC so yet again a big streaming service finds a way of screwing over a show.

Difficult to know who to mostly blame. I've been out of the loop for a few doctors but I heard the writing in recent seasons is not great.

Former Doctor Who writer Robert Shearman has stated that the beleagured British sci-fi series is now "probably as dead as we've ever seen it."

It's easy to take open worlds for granted now but I remember how mind blowing this was the first time I saw a friend playing this on the PS2.

This is Graham Linehan, who UKLabour, WesStreeting and every columnist in the country rushed to defend when he was arrested by police, after inciting online violence and smashed a trans girl’s phone. They are even changing the law specifically to protect him. “Just a joke” @mrjamesob.bsky.social

Strange. I had no idea Argentina was part of the United States, but it must be because Trump is very definitely America First and would never lie to his loyal and incredibly gullible supporters.

I know the Steam Deck's affordability has a lot to do with Valve being extremely aggressive with its pricing as they make their money on increased Steam sales, but it's been out for 3 years now and I'm surprised there hasn't been an x86 device that comes close in terms of price/performance.

Fearing political backlash because your game features a slave fighting the KKK says so much about the current state of the political climate.

Ubisoft canceled an 'Assassin's Creed' game set after the Civil War

• Featured a Black Assassin who was formerly a slave

• Would fight the emerging Ku Klux Klan

• Leadership canceled it — concerned with US political climate & Yasuke backlash

Weird how generative AI peddlers promised this stuff would usher in some kind of Star Trek post scarcity society and so far all it's delivered is slop content and learned helplessness.

The thing with Candace Owens is that it's hard to know where the performative grift ends and the mental illness begins.

I'm so pissed off about this Google sideloading thing. It's going to destroy the android app ecosystem, and for what? So Google can control even more of the web? Legitimately evil company.
datnofact.bsky.social
How is what Google's doing with sideloading not considered monopolistic since it effectively destroys alternative app-stores like F-Droid?

Google's requirement effectively strengthens their walled garden. If not monopolistic it's definitely extremely anti-consumer.

The annoyances of Windows are increasing while the annoyances of Linux are decreasing and Microsoft are going to keep doing things that are going to reach people's breaking points.

Yeah, I still need to boot into my Windows VM on occasion. WinBoat looks promising though. Being able to run Windows apps seamlessly in Linux without even having to think about the VM is where it needs to be eventually.

Windows has coasted too long on casual users fearing switching to an unfamiliar operating system but I do think they're pushing more and more people to their breaking point where the inconvenience of learning to use Linux far outweigh putting up with Microsoft's endless bullshit.

Yeah the future for Android devices looks bleak. A lot of people in the android emulation community are pretty unhappy about it as a lot of emu devs aren't going to want to hard over their person info to google.

I completely agree. I just hold out some glimmer of hope it causes customers to shift towards software that doesn't treat users like this.

The cool thing about Libre Calc is that I can create spreadsheets without having to worry about an AI trying trying to guess what it thinks it should insert into empty cells.
