Been a while since I've done one of these so I figured why not?

Hi I'm Dan 👋 I'm 💍 to an awesome beautiful woman, I love the outdoors 🏔️ and I'm here to talk GAMES!

Some favourite series:

🤠 RDR
🐉 Elder Scrolls
⚔️ The Witcher
☢️ STALKER, Metro & Fallout
🚀 Mass Effect
💉 Bioshock
🧟‍♂️ State of Decay
Next on the Spooktober docket is this puppy.

Don't think I've heard a bad thing about Conscript yet, and I'm intrigued by this choice of setting. Not many horror games choose WW1 as background - Amnesia The Bunker is one of the few I remember doing it and it worked super well.
Don't be mean, she's probably a tasteful gal and heard you're a sucker for KCD2 too 😭
For sure. It's got such a particular mood to it. It's kinda crazy but I sort of prefer it over AW2 just on vibes alone
Good game! Post Trauma is a clear homage to the old survival horror classics like the OG Resident Evil and (especially) Silent Hill, and though it often walks too close to its inspirations, it also scratches that itch very competently.

Desperately needs some patches though.
Yeah, I'm just starting ch4 but already had to look up the solution for 2 puzzles. For the most part they're decent imo but a few of them could be more intuitive for sure.

But like you said creepy atmosphere. I'm mainly here for the vibes.
Well this is certainly more interesting than I initially thought it was going to be. Pretty good old-school survival horror from what I've seen so far.
Think I've decided on my next spooktober game.

It released earlier this year and it was in a couple showcases before, but I don't think I've heard anyone talk about it at all.

It also didn't review particularly well, but I often don't agree with reviewers so we'll see 🤞
I was drawn to Kholat by its looks and because it's based on a story I've always been fascinated by (the Dyatlov Pass incident), but despite its sound ideas and audiovisual chops, most of its execution is quite disappointing.

A shame really. There's something cool here.
Shoutout to the flare gun, the unsung hero of the entire Alan Wake franchise.
Seriously, one of the things I appreciate the most in the Alan Wake series is its classy homage to some timeless horror behemoths.

They're not exactly subtle, but the moment you realise you're in *those* types of places, the whole vibe goes up a notch.
And that's a wrap up on the Alan Wake saga for now!

Loved AW2 just as much as the OG, though maybe for some different reasons. Not everything worked for me, but the things this game does well are both incredible & impactful.

I don't think Remedy will ever make a game I won't enjoy.
Another Spooktober, another perfect time to bring up one of the best survival horror games of the past decade.

Play The Evil Within 2, folks!
Alan Wake 2 keeps singing in my face 😭
Yeah I'm fairly sure I'll be coming back to this one as well.
No better month for that brother 🔥
I just came from a fresh replay of that one! Imo it's really cool to go through them back-to-back and see how the franchise evolved over these many years.
Friends, the more I play Alan Wake 2, the more I get into it 🥹
