do you think there's a difference from paying for building maintenance vs paying for buildings themselves? like if a church is in a place where the funds they get are only enough to cover maintenance on an overly-costly old building they pay, is it ethical to stay there and use those funds?

as i understand it they do also say that everything beyond what you need ought to be given up. no idea how much that's actually practiced tho

i think if you're trying to claim a biblical basis for the need to systems for wealth redistribution you're probably on pretty shaky ground

My jokes would be observational. For example: I have analyzed 1.2 million posts about cats. The predominant sentiment is positive. The second most common is a desire for the cat to pay rent. This is an irrational expectation. Felines are not a recognized form of currency.
