I suppose the answer is to turn to borrowing from traditional institutions. We will have to see the terms of those loans & the consequences they will have on the amount of debt the students will incur, & the limit it will place on them (esp first gen) to be able to generate generational wealth.
Students who have earned their way into their dream institutions may have to forgo that dream. Even with the current borrowing power, many students continue to work through school to pay for expenses, and for students who have families to support, it can be particularly difficult.
This will affect everyone across racial and ethnic lines. Not every exceptional student will be able to receive scholarships to supplement the cost, and not every exceptional student will be able to borrow enough. We can’t count on institutions lowering tuition.

On what would have been #DameCicelySaunders birthday, we highlight the incredible work she did as a pioneer of the hospice movement that we recognise today.

She founded the first modern hospice and was pivotal in establishing the discipline and culture of palliative care.

Dr. Amrita Shrestha emphasises the irreplaceable role of human connection in palliative care. True care goes beyond treatment; it's about empathy, presence, and addressing all aspects of a patient's needs. Technology alone isn’t enough; people make the difference. #PalliativeCare #UKAidMatch
