sending this to all my ham radio friends to make them mad :D
Decided to purchase a few physical books, one about using ffmpeg & gpac to mux various transport streams, and the other being Floyd Toole’s acoustics research.

Even if the practical use is limited, I’ve not purchased many books in my life and I figure it will be nice to have them on a shelf. :)
I am just not quite not there yet.
In coping with mental health challenges it’s helped me a lot to be extremely selective over types of people I am around, especially regarding the language used for things like intimacy & care.

I hope I can branch back out someday to fitting in with average people, with a fresh identity to match.
Still thinking about Genlock for my home studio. It’ll be tricky with Dante, but then I wouldn’t have create my own framesync with GStreamer to keep my encoding pipeline stable. :p
Hopefully this cuts the confused user forum posts down at least 50%, even if AVFoundation is still wrong, at least Resolve will both visualize and export 1-1-1 tagging everywhere for most users now.
craving tight snuggles 😖
roommate came home from a road trip with TimBits. Awoken from my slumber, I am saved. Depression cured. I dunno what day or time it is but I am ready to WORK
Need to mess with GPAC more for HLS packaging.
Time to play some tunes for friends :D

Now with HDR video and FLAC audio!

housemate, walking by and commenting on my haphazard placement of speakers while I was re-arranging furniture:

“what the hell kinda speaker layout is this? DolbyShitmos?”
I finally got my crazy encoding pipeline working. Excited to test it the rest of the weekend.
Totally didn’t get invited here by accidentally mentioning off hand that I knew how to handle phantom camera log encodings to a local furry or anything 😅

(thank you cute scientist fox for the wonderful tour) ❤️
Well today was fun. Got to geek out with the camera nerds who film crash tests. A place where fun and science collide, literally. :p
I would do everything through GStreamer for my studio, but it's basically not possible to apply a 3D LUT (HDR/SDR tonemap) without writing a GPU shader, so I'm still attempting to use GStreamer for 90% of what I need, but then passing the data on to ffmpeg for the final HLS variant encodes.
Wegmans broccoli cheddar soup for lunch today 👌🤤
oh no, i’m writing another stackoverflow post
Dropped a partner off at the airport after a nice cuddly weekend. Also made some progress with my video encoder pipeline, and some art designs for one of my characters. Back in the work control room for now, but at least I have fun things to think about.
FFV1 has proven to be a very useful intermediate for processing & remuxing things. Kinda surprising how not too insane the data rates are.
I miss doing Things & being around people who also wanted to do Things. But of course my ideal version of Things was slightly different than everyone else’s, so now I don’t do Things. I’m caught between worlds of people who don’t do Things, and those who are doing Things but in the wrong way for me.
