Well, yes, Republicans are sabotaging governance and breaking anything that works so they can blame Democrats. "We told you government can't working. Put us in charge!"

But that's been their main tactic for decades. The only surprise is how often that works. (Ref: GOP economy.)
Uhdunno. I've known Christians -- people who tried to live by Christian values. To a person, they were kinder and more generous than me. It's an impossible standard, but even when they failed, they tried again.

These Evangelicals aren't any of that. No, they're not Christians; they only cosplay.
Effectively, but not literally.
They'll allow us neither food nor heath care. And we're making them do this because... forget that.

"Look what you made me do!"
Hey, Democratic Party! Y'all swear that you're different now, and you recognize that people who were upset with the death toll in Gaza had a point. You swore you'd do better, right?

Any reaction? Because I'm not hearing much.

Hello?

Of course they say their facial recognition app overrides IDs. ICE officers are rewarded for arrest numbers and never punished for lies during that arrest. I'm amazed they're not just kettling a few hundred people at a time.

They have impunity and civil-right-be-damned quotas.
Why is a politician's ability to raise funds their biggest claim to leadership? Why is that all that's mattered for decades? I don't find 'More donations!' very compelling.

Since the Democratic Party is shedding support right now, maybe we should change that when we get a chance.
I agree completely, Senator, but why are you telling this to *us*? You're the person holding the levers of power. If there's something you want *me* to do, you should speak up.

See, I've had enough outrage farming. Full to here. I don't need more despair. I need Dems to lead.

And they're not.
Quick question. Does anyone have a strong reason for believing that Trump and Speaker of the Minions Johnson haven't already dissolved the Legislature, and we're just too stubborn to notice?

I can't see either of them bringing the House back in session.

It's a coup, everyone. It's a goddamn coup.
You say that sarcastically, but Trump means it literally. No, he doesn't want any smart, independent opinions; he hates people of color; and Trump is enraged at anyone else who won a Nobel Prize when he didn't.

He's just this pinched, sweaty old man shouting at kids on the sidewalk.
Trump's people lie to us about everything. Why? Lies work better than the truth, and none of the liars face the smallest consequence. They'd be crazy NOT to lie to us.

Any suggestions more effective than pointing and yelling "Shame!" a lot? Because that shit's not working.

Breaking News: Trump's ego requires another round of coddling.

Sources announce that President Donald Trump remains so butt-hurt by the No Kings protests that he will tear down more stuff that America loves and pile rocks on top of the wreckage.

"See what you made me do!" he reportedly screamed.

Trump feels inadequate/ Seven million Americans at No Kings told Trump he's a dick. He knows he doesn't *have* actual balls, so he illegally paid big, potent machines to destroy our stuff. "This is what you make me do!" he screamed.

All hail the Epstein Ballroom.

Next up, he kills the family dog.
Speaker of the House Mike Johnson will probably never bring the House back in session. But he can't dissolve our democracy by himself. The Rules Committee could also bring bills to the floor without the Speaker.

Lean on them especially hard.

I thing I think a thing that is worth mentioning here that there's a segment of white republicans who are absolutely salivating at a chance to bring back the confederacy and at best indentured servitude, at worst racebased chattel slavery

Ive seen this more time in prepper groups than you'd believe
if you're wondering how things are going in texas, the chairman of the Tarrant County GOP is joking that Nov. 1st, the day SNAP benefits are poised to run out, is "National Chimp Out Day"
Republicans have been on vacation for the last six weeks.

So... it's mostly a no-show job? At least if you're a Republican. Huh.

Big Mob Boss vibes.
Speaker Mike Johnson seems even more delighted to keep the government closed. Republicans are actively destroying our democratic system.

Hey, fun fact: But Johnson isn't essential. The Rules Committee could move legislation to the floor, too. Just sayin'.

At this point, anyone with common sense knows that cutting social services creates unrest and increases crime.

So. If hypothetically I wanted to create a reason to introduce martial law, an even more intrusive surveillance state and justify military presence, I would
Cut food stamps and Healthcare
Did Bolton commit crimes? Doesn't matter. This prosecution is the fruit of the poisoned tree. Trump already confessed.

I can't speak for the corrupted SCOTUS, but American jurisprudence has been clear on this in the past.
I'm not fond of John Bolton. The investigation began under the Biden administration, and there's some evidence that he's committed a crime.

But.

We know that Trump pressured prosecutors to indict Bolton because Trump TOLD us. He biased the investigation, the indictment, and the prosecution.
When Trump is corrupting every prosecution, there is no difference. When his thumb is plainly on the scale, how can any judge allow any case to continue that *began* with prosecutorial bias?
So, Trump is ordering more prosecutions, so prosecutors have to find *something* to keep the boss happy.

Now, consider this. A cop pushes into someone's flat without a warrant, but finds drugs and arrests the people there. What next? Simple: the case gets thrown out. The cop corrupted the evidence.
Why, that sounds terrible, Senator! But why are you telling me? I can't do anything about it from here. I thought you were a full Senator, with power and influence?

Don't be Schumer. Stop anxiety-farming. Start planning what to do going forward. What will you do, and how can we help?
