Though today is Ada Lovelace Day, my thoughts also turn to another incredible woman and scientist.

Her name is Lynn Conway - a trans woman who first designed the microchip allowing me to find Trans+ community online, and from there, do the work I do as a journalist.

jag, som inte diy:at en enda grej i hela mitt lilla liv, har införskaffat slitstarkt rep och lim för att fräscha upp kattens klösträd. pga orkar inte lägga skitmycket pengar på ytterligare ett helt nytt träd som bara kommer behöva bytas ut igen om nåt år.

One of the things I hear with some younger trans people I know is they feel, "I'm gonna get this surgery, and I'm gonna learn that way of speaking, and I'm gonna be done." You're never done. If you're a straight, cisgender person, you're never done. Things are always happening that have the potential to change you. So all I am today is not who I'm gonna be tomorrow, because of the things that happened to me today and later tonight. People forget that. "Oh, after I transition, I'm gonna be through." Well, good luck with that. 'Cause if you're through, then it's time to leave, you know, and I don't wanna go anywhere yet.
I'm in my seventies. Why didn't I stop? Number one is community. My gurls. I've had moments of thinking about stopping, but I didn't. I made sure I would step back, reju- venate myself, and then got back out there, and that's how you make a way. Our stories are not all the same, but the destination is: to get some place where we have some peace and harmony, and we can be at ease with ourselves and the people around us. You make the best of it all and hope you can help make it a little better for the gurl after you.

I söndags erkände staten övergrepp mot tornedalingar, kväner och lantalaiset. Det skedde i byn Karungi ett stenkast från Sakarigården. Det är den gamla familjegården som gett mig mitt efternamn. Det är inte er ursäkt och ministern var där en mycket kort stund.

Staten og Legeforeningen bør be om unnskyldning for overgrepene begått mot transpersoner. Folk som ble tvunget til kastrering for å skifte juridisk kjønn, må få oppreisning. I boka «Standardizing Sex» viser jeg at staten vel vitende ofret folks reproduktive helse for å beskytte en binær kjønnsnorm.

Kulturministern reste till Karungi för att representera staten i försoningsprocessen med tornedalingarna, men drog efter första halvan av ett program på 2,5 timme. När landshövdingen höll tal och ärkebiskopen bad om förlåtelse - då var hon borta. Det fanns folk där som väntat i 70 år på upprättelse.
