Somebody tell me, from a legal standpoint, why bystanders couldn't have tackled the plainclothes men who refused to show badges or identify themselves, and hold them until the police arrived, to protect the other person? I just want to understand.

Family-owned retail shopkeeper here... Virtually everything we sell in our shop has gone up in price from our worldwide suppliers. The money comes out of MY pocket and I do have to pass on some of the cost to our customers. Several of our suppliers have ceased shipping to U.S.

Congress, one day, needs to make the law much clearer than it is now. Somehow our troops have been convinced that Trump/Hegseth's orders are "lawful." As a veteran, I believe they are not, but a "presidential finding" could and probably is "muddying" that.

I don't think it has to wait. If an ICE agent or any federal employee or contractor assaults someone and it is clearly caught on camera as absolutely unwarranted, local police and prosecutors should be able to arrest and charge that person. Please tell me if I'm wrong.
