The constant mention of how “we deserve better” or “vote with your wallets” feels so performative if others aren’t allowed to “vote with their wallets” by buying a game they believe is the direction they want the franchise to take and improve on and are expected to just blindly hate everything

ZA definitely has its issues ala the pricing, DLC advertising some of the presentation, but that doesn’t prove the game being an inherently awful experience. And that’s what I’m seeing some people go through: they go in thinking it’s an awful time, but are shocked to see it was all hyperbole.

So many ppl have this idea that anyone having positive thoughts on the game and don’t get the hate are fans that can’t at all handle criticism about Pokémon, when a lot of them understand the issues but are forced to hear these issues online treated like game breaking problems ad nauseam

If it’s not passive aggressive statements about the game in response to someone liking it, it’s people in the comments making whole arguments demonizing someone buying the game and selling their soul to Nintendo to the point where the discussion just ends up being like this

Any time I see a post of someone going “yea this game aint bad like ppl are saying, I have 10 hours in this and I’m having a lot of fun,” other people show up being like

“Ok but you have to agree though that we as fans deserve a lot better from this franchise” ; who in the world is denying that…?

What’s making a lot of online discussion behind Pokémon Legends ZA pretty redundant and kind of frustrating is how much of a disconnect a lot of hardcore gamers seem to have with others liking the game thinking they absolutely do not care about criticism involving the game
